I watch the oil tankers
Stumble out to sea
Another ghost in a picture frame
The line of tenements marching to their fate

Silver fountain carved from midnight
Seek the child with the face of an eagle
Time to dance with the queen of orchids
There’s a hangman in the garden
Spiders swaying in the black shed
The weeds have now returned for your suitcase

O my king with golden scythe
Mix the mercury and rose
We’ll cross the desert of stone and lizard
In our claws a blood red poem
Starlings murmur over hedgerows
Moor and moss our first and last names
The dragonfly is sent to guide us
