Joy and Raven went to town
one in black the other green
they passed a juggler on a ruby horse
with seven suns and a minotaur
Joy and Raven reached the fair
a herb seller said you must beware
the night will bring a labyrinth
you must hand a scarlet rose
to the faceless keeper of the seventh wave
Joy and Raven got lost in the woods
they met an old man in a ragged hood
he laughed for sorrow and wept for joy
and he gave them two rings
Prophecy and Vision
Joy and Raven climbed up the hill
following clouds that tumbled into wolves
they found a tower but the tower was locked
so they built up a fire and there they saw the scarlet rose
Joy and Raven went to the edge of the cliff
they took off their clothes and they turned into birds
they flew past the dawn and the orchard of bones
the ocean was knocking at the window
of the lighthouse called Death
Joy and Raven swam out to sea
they swam so far as far could be
their love was so deep and their lust was so pure
laughed when they realised there was no shore to the shore
it was a painting of a diamond
collapsing into the void of the crimson rose
Joy and Raven spotted a mast
the captain was the faceless keeper of the seventh wave
and the goddess was holding a scarlet rose
it was a long journey without words
through the blue labyrinth
Joy and Raven woke up and found
they were holding each other and there was no sound
but then came the gallop of a ruby horse
the juggler was smiling he asked what they had seen and heard

Sparse, haunting songs in the British folk tradition of June Tabor with experimental drones & atmospherics that remind me of the quiet side of Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love" LP. A wedding between Gaelic/Celtic folk music and "Hearts of Space" new age music. Several dark Christmas carols. Perfect for NPR radio fans. Art Fin
